Pros

I love working here. Amazing work/life balance (although nothing in life is ever perfectly balanced), generous benefits (unlimited PTO, paid military leave, paid parental leave, monthly allowance if you opt out of their health insurance plans, monthly phone allowance, bonuses paid monthly, etc), flexible working conditions (e.g. no in-office mandates for consultants, remote work available, etc), and fair compensation. This is one of the few places I have worked that lists "family first" as one of its core values and actually lives that out every day--you will never feel like you have to choose between caring for your loved ones and earning a living. Our leadership is truly empathetic, transparent, and committed to helping their employees be their very best, both personally and professionally. I love the camaraderie of being an all-veteran owned and operated firm. If you are still serving in the guard/reserve, you will never have to explain why you need to be gone for 2 weeks in the summer.

Cons

Some individuals would say that they feel compensation is low, but you can't compare a small firm to a big-four professional services firm. Additionally, one has to consider the number of hours (and other sacrifices) the big four require of their employees. You really don't come out ahead after taxes. If you want the enormous paycheck and don't care about being home, seeing your family, or having time for literally anything outside of work, you're better off working elsewhere. If you are an experienced hire, be aware that everyone at Greencastle starts at the same level when they join the firm (associate consultant). If you have a ton of relevant corporate experience (e.g. were a director elsewhere, spent 20 years working for fortune 500 companies, etc), you may not be willing to start at the same level as someone fresh out of the military (and may not be comfortable with the corresponding pay cut). That being said, individuals have been able to advance very quickly and promotion considerations occur twice a year (there is no minimum "time in grade" requirement for promotions).

Pros

Good people who have the right priorities

Cons

Any cons would just be about consulting in general and even then they would be items I think Greencastle does better than most

Pros

Working with veterans with the same mindset

Cons

Leadership is a good ol boys club. If you’re not a cool guy they don’t care about you
