Pros

The people on the crew really are some of the best people that make the LONG days worth it. You will form long-lasting friendships with some of these people just from the sheer chaos you will experience on the road. But there are many other better ways to make friends.

Cons

TL;DR - if you want to be overworked, underpaid, AND undervalued by [mostly incompetent/underqualified] people then go ahead and work for this company! You'll get all of that here. There are many things I can say about this company and who runs it. But for the sake of the review, this is more of a warning. Do not work for this company if you have any semblance of a good moral compass. The people in charge (CEO, VP's, you name em) kept a man on the crew for over half of last season (2022) after he made multiple predatory remarks about the CHILDREN that attended the events, despite knowing about the comments shortly after his first weekend working. Why wasn't anything done about him until the later half of the season, you ask? A. They reduced it to gossip because it came from crew members confiding in each other and B. because they did not care enough to take the time out of their day to go through the hiring process for someone else. The CEO himself has made many questionable decisions in terms of the way he carries himself around his employees and the lengths he will go to in order to properly staff an event (transgression). If you happen to see him at an event, he most likely won't talk to you. You might get a quick "hello" if you're backstage, but if you're media, merch, or anyone else within the actual auditorium you won't even know he's there. He used to care, hence the older reviews that are good, but within the past 3 years he - among everyone else that's higher up in the company - has only cared about the profits and the clients. He will treat you like a client, meaning he will barely listen to the words you're actually saying and use his own philosophy to not "let people leave angry". To put it simply, this company does not care about the crew, despite them being the sole reason any dance competitions happen at all. To start, you will not get adequate compensation for the amount of work and travel you do on the road. If you are interested in the dance competition/convention world, there are many other dance competition companies that will pay you way more for doing way less (no set-up/breaking down, building the stage, shorter days, etc.). This company boasts about the travel, but 98% of the time the only things you see while traveling are the walls of your hotel and the auditorium. They will not feed you adequate breakfast - you will be expected to be in the hotel lobby for a 6:15 call time and if you're lucky the hotel will provide a grab and go breakfast which consists of a fruit and a granola bar. The directors on the road will not care if that doesn't last you until lunch (which is usually after 1PM) for theres a coveted "snack case" that insists of potato chips and mints that they can feed you while you wait for your first meal of the day. Even full-time, you will not be treated well. It may seem nice and a "fun" environment at first, but they truly lack boundaries due to the number of unqualified individuals. They strive to be the "cool" office that offers beer in the middle of the day accompanied by yelling and singing that everyone can hear, but that will only distract you from sticking to the unrealistic deadlines they set due to lack of preparation. You will often feel like you're one of 5 people with actual work to do. They also say there are no stupid suggestions, but if you even think about modernizing the way they operate and offering better solutions to their problems, they look at you sideways because that's just "the way they've always done it". They're afraid of change and it shows. Like another review said, maybe they like the extremely high turnover rate they have as it means they don't have to enact changes. And don't even get me started on their sister company, Reverb. That is a whole other can of worms you don't want to work for. It has been nothing but chaos since it began.

Pros

Honestly I can't think of a single positive thing about this job

Cons

Where to begin. Working here was one of the most disappointing job experiences I’ve ever had. The “travel benefits” sound appealing at first, but in reality you only ever see the airport, the hotel, and the event venue. There’s no real opportunity to enjoy the places you’re sent to. The work culture is toxic. Many coworkers are unhelpful, and there’s little sense of teamwork. The pay is far below industry standards considering the horrible hours and responsibilities. Management is disorganized and unprofessional, which leads to an extremely high turnover rate — people simply don’t last here. The worst part is the treatment of employees. Schedules often demand 16-hour days, with meals barely provided. Managers are quick to hound staff for the smallest mistakes, yet when it comes time for hard physical work like breaking down sets, they stand by and watch while others do the work. Overall, this company does not value its employees’ time, effort, or well-being. If you’re considering working here, think carefully — the promises don’t match the reality.
