Never worked for a greedier company. - Sales Associate Group 1 Automotive Employee Review

Pros

There actually aren’t any. In fact if Group 1 buys your store, prepare to have your pay cut to the bare bones. See the con section for more detail.

Cons

Are there any? The 401k contribution is peanuts and the cost of benefits is so much that my colleagues can’t afford to opt in to them. This is all due to the fact that the pay plan is so horrible that we’re literally being starved out of a job with shelter on the chopping block as well but hey, the company stock price is soaring! This is what wage theft looks like! Historically, Automotive Sales Associates got paid very well. Not anymore and Group 1 established a “new normal” by taking even more money from their workers!

Pros

They offer employee stock benefits.

Cons

The workplace culture has deteriorated significantly over the past few years. What was once an organization employees were proud to be part of has become an environment where morale is consistently low and many employees feel disengaged and dissatisfied. The changes in leadership and culture have had a noticeable negative impact on the overall employee experience. Based on my experience, I would encourage prospective employees to avoid at all cost.
