Pros

In response to previous negative post, I would like to state the following FACTS about our company: - Our company does not have retreats. We have semi-annual sales training and quarterly management reviews which require the team to gather in various branch offices to facilitate information sharing and training. We budget for these meeting a year in advance. -All of our employees took a compensation reduction in 2010 as part of an overall industry downturn and global financial crisis. Upper management took as much as 40% pay reductions and all others took as much as a 10% reduction at the time. We did this in an effort to prevent the layoff of many other employees and keep the team together and preserve jobs. Our volumes have exploded in the last 5 years as have wages. Ownership invested millions of dollars in the business during 2010 to make our business stronger and to keep hundreds of people employed. -Wages have increased company-wide every year since 2011 and all employees were placed on performance based incentive programs resulting in even more income for top performers. -Average Branch Manager tenure is greater than 9.3 years, considering that several Branch Managers have been promoted within the company to new roles. - Technician work hours have not been reduced since 2010. We have recently implemented full GPS/Timesheet Audits and stopped widespread overtime abuse. Total payroll hours are up over 50% in the last 12 months even with controls and audits in place. - The average Technician at our company works slightly more than 50 hours per week and most love the hours. - GFT has paid out over $140,000 in incentive bonuses in 2015 to field technicians who achieve industry standard criteria. - ON-CALL can be challenging in our industry during the summer months due to weather related call volume. We pay all Technicians On-Call bonuses each week. - We only run after-hours calls that we are contractually obligated by clients to complete after-hours. We are scored by all clients based upon our response times/contractual obligations. Our scorecard results with our clients is outstanding. We are in a demanding industry. -Technicians who are On-Call often do work more than 20 hours on the weekends. We have multiple On-Call Technicians in each branch office to provide backup and support. - We continue to recruit and hire new technicians each day to add to our growing team of industry experts. - Our company spends over $200,000 annually on technical training and developing people in our industry. Most technicians earn greater than $60,000 annually with some earning over $100,000 annually after they are fully training and utilized. It is a very rewarding career for those who are cut out for it. Our company is growing rapidly and in high demand from our clients. Like all industries, we are required to run efficient operations and to control costs in order to reinvest in our business. We care deeply about our employees and our clients. We work very hard to put great managers in place and to hire leaders in our industry. We invest heavily in automation and controls in order to continuously improve our business. Some people like it and some people don't. We retain the best. www.guardianfueltech.com

Cons

We are in a very demanding industry and our clients have very high expectations for us. Employees are measured daily and we demand performance in exchange for great compensation. Long hours are required during busy season (summers) and stress can get high.

Pros

Good pay, not having a boss over you at every job,

Cons

Poor work/life balance. Long hours, too much on call, corporate and upper level management has little regard for technicians with longevity. I have been falling asleep driving due to long hours and being forced to run calls on little sleep. Management doesn't care or show regard for safety. CEO is a drunk. Does not promote from within. I.E. service manager came from another company instead of promoting from within. Branch managers know little about the job.
