Pros

There are several Pros associated with Guardian. 1) Decent salaries and compensation for positions. 2) Reasonable life/work balance. 3) Good location (Bethlehem) for raising a family.

Cons

There are a few negatives regarding Guardian. 1) Extremely clique oriented work culture, even with interactions between management and employees. 2) "Good ol' boy" mentality is alive and well and deeply rooted in the company. 3) There is a shift from a privately held insurance company culture to a more business-like environment, but instead of a good thing, all the negative aspects of each are emphasized. Senior management is all from outside. Middle management is all "home-grown."

Pros

Flexibility, excellent work life balance, casual environment, easy to use PTO. Benefits: health, dental, STD/ACC, vision, 401k are excellent

Cons

Pay is much below the standard for the position, raises and bonuses are minimal and hardly reflect the effort that is required to maintain positive metrics/meet goals. Case managers' responsibility is at a max and we often feel overwhelmed by the workload and expectations of management. Case managers are often responsible for tasks outside of the important things that have an effect of the claim
