Pros

Lots of personal freedom at the expense of structure. There is an opportunity to work on some really cool projects with some cool people.

Cons

Pretty much everything else. The primary gripe right now is that it is company policy not to pay out PTO on separation. It's my own fault as I should have read the handbook more closely. In their handbook, it states that they won't, but the handbook is handily only provided after the offer letter has been signed. Additionally, the corporate email server is plagued with spam and nothing was done about it in the three years I worked there. Management also leans on their contractor employees to submit monthly status reports that contain CUI via email but haven't purchased any form of email encryption for this data as required by all government customers. Timecard abuse is rampant. Management is more focused on partying than running a company. Management has also pressured me to work cross programs for another government customer without providing a charge code. I recommend avoiding this employer.

Like many growing companies, priorities can shift quickly, and processes don’t always keep up.

Pros

There can be no pros with a company that has low moral values

Cons

They pretend to care about everyone and tote they are a “family”. Biggest red flag. Being a contractor is ok since you don’t deal with them directly, however it’s been observed their in office staff has a high turnover rate.
