Ruined what once was... - Senior Technical Support Engineer HARMAN Employee Review

This company acquired AMX 9 years ago and completely decimated what once was a top if not the top control system company in the world. Senior execs having no idea what exactly we did at AMX decided they had a grand vision to "IMPROVE" it. After cutting off the legs of the company they expected us to run. We went from winning award after award for the service we provided to being minimized down to just another call center whose upper management does not understand the value of good service and instead wants to force unrealistic metrics down the line. I worked for AMX for 7 years before Harman came, I worked another 9 years under the new regime and was recently let go due to "workforce reduction", which is a fancy term for "you make too much, we are hiring people in another country for less".
