Unprofessional family business - Anonymous employee HB Staffing Employee Review

This a family owned and operated business. They are very misleading upfront about the nature of their work environment. With any family comes drama and this family has a lot of it and isn't afraid to bring it to the office. The rules are constantly changing due to the owners erratic moods. Upper management has favorites and nepotism runs rampant. The family workers are allowed to do whatever they want, come in two hours late, not come back after lunch, anything goes! While the rest of the staff is micromanaged with every move scrutinized. There is no real opportunity for growth. This is and always will be a family owned business. The owner has a daughter who will likely take over the company and she is quite possibly more difficult to work with then her mother. Management had no problem yelling, cursing and belittling you in front of others. They pin their employees up against each other and gossip behind their backs. It is a truly toxic environment. I wouldn't wish the abuse upon my biggest enemy. The owner will make promises and portray a positive outlook but she has no real business plan and no concise direction. The owner and the GM are married so if you do work there, be advised that whatever you say to the GM will get back to the owner quickly making it very hard to approach the upper management with concerns or complaints.
