Pros
Great group of co-workers!! Flexible work schedule Decent vacation allowance Mostly interesting projects Great exposure to the games industry, and great place to get your foot in the door. In all fairness, my overall work experience at HB studios has been mostly positive. There have been a lot of changes over the years to improve working conditions (I can't remember the last time I had to work till after midnight, which is a good sign!), work hour flexibility, and even at one point there was an in house day care which was a huge benefit for some of the staff(but that is no longer there).
Cons
Low visibility into company health and long term viability. Projects / Work can be non-engaging due to the nature of some work for hire situations While OT has improved, it is still something that is almost always required on a project for extended periods of time. Lower than average pay for the region (in relation to other tech jobs). Not a lot of opportunities for advancement Benefits are going backwards Hard to have your voice heard and not be dismissed with some people Lack of tools and technology group hinders project success Lack of technical director hinders projects as well
