Pros

RESIDENTS, STAFF AND NURSES!

Cons

If you want to become a manager and have no people/social skills, this is the company for you. In all my working years, I have never, and I stress, never, worked for a company like it! Chai Patel CBE? I should be awarded a CBE myself for just signing their contract!

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I’m really sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the management and leadership at your home. HC-One is working very hard to make every home a great place to work for colleagues and we are making a lot of positive progress - much of that is thanks to the feedback we get from staff surveys, and the HR surgeries held in homes. In a recent independent staff survey, where nearly 5,000 colleagues took part, nearly 85% of colleagues were satisfied or very satisfied with their role and working for HC-One. A similar number felt well supported by their manager. Nevertheless, feedback from colleagues who are not happy with parts of their job, such as the concerns you’ve raised about management, are equally important. I understand you might not want to discuss your concerns directly with the manager, but please do contact the regional HR or Operations teams, who would be happy to help. You can also contact the Chairman directly via askchai@hc-one.co.uk. I do hope you will get in touch so we can work to address your concerns. Alison

Pros

Great PTO! Good place to get experience as a new graduate.

Cons

Poor work /life balance due to lots of uncompensated hours required to maintain productivity. Double booking of clients by schedulers with no say so. pr rather than primary focus of agency is on productivity. Also, Electronic Health Record becomes a crutch (too many check boxes) and you will lose your diagnostic skills and writing skills here. Also, supervision is not free here.
