Pros
I lost my other job unexpectedly and HCLTech's hiring process was fast. Sadly most other processes within HCLTech have not been. They are fairly good at hiring minorities, though I wish that they'd hire minorities (and everyone) *at a fair wage*.
Cons
They lowball their initial pay offer (I am in a Senior role but make entry level rates for my field, and am banned from OT to be able to make up for it) and then don't even try to keep pace with inflation on top of it. When you ask for a salary review because you're not paid competitively, it does not matter what time of year you are asking: you get told to wait for annual raises (which do not even always happen, and are typically announced months after the new year and are smaller than inflation). "Wait and see" is just their way of stalling to keep you from leaving while they do nothing. Half their website is locked out to contractors because we use client-issued devices that aren't "approved" like HCL-issued devices, and it takes weeks or more to get support for ANY issue, and usually you have to drive team members continuously to respond. Their communications (sometimes about ten a day, often just promotional materials for partnering agencies trying to sell you stuff) always are paragraphs long and fail to include actual links to whatever they need you to do. No path to hire in from contractor, but they tell you that part of why your raises are so low is because they have to pay hired-in people who are between projects. Why am I being charged for paycheck stability that I can't get in on?
