HCSS Response
4yTo say that people are getting COVID left and right on our campus is simply false. By no means are we a “hot spot”. Anyone who has come into direct contact with an infected person is notified by either the individual or HR. If you haven’t been notified, it is because you haven’t been in contact with an infected person. We realize that our employees are asking for more transparency on this topic, and we are discussing the best way to share COVID updates without violating HIPAA.
While we are not currently asking all employees to wear masks, this is subject to change in the future. We are still providing KN95 masks and face shields to any employee who requests one. We are also working on creating an emblem that employees can put outside of their office/ workstation to notify others that a mask is requested before entering their workspace. Masks are not mandatory as of today, but this could change in the future.
It is unfortunate that COVID has become a political issue. Because of this, any decision made will be cited as favoring one political party or another. The political beliefs of HCSS employees is completely irrelevant. Employees are encouraged to speak up time and time again, and there has been direct action as a result of employee feedback.
