What’s the plan? Why is there nothing mentioned about COVID in lunch meetings. - Concerned Employee HCSS Employee Review

Pros

I like my fellow coworkers for the most part. The money is ok WHEN you add profit sharing.

Cons

Ok, where do I even begin. A few months ago an email was sent that we were to return to this office and that people would be required to wear masks. I ASSUMED, we would either have a policy in place to require vaccinations or daily testing. Neither of those things are required and after governor Abbot prematurely lifted mask mandates, our Desantis loving CEO scrapped any mask requirements. People are getting COVID left and right in the building and there is not one mention of it. I am super frustrated that I am being hauled into a hot spot of a company on Sept 1. I’m looking for another job where I can work remote and feel safe. People won’t speak up because they are afraid of the backlash from a mostly republican group of employees. COVID is not going anywhere anytime soon.

To say that people are getting COVID left and right on our campus is simply false. By no means are we a “hot spot”. Anyone who has come into direct contact with an infected person is notified by either the individual or HR. If you haven’t been notified, it is because you haven’t been in contact with an infected person. We realize that our employees are asking for more transparency on this topic, and we are discussing the best way to share COVID updates without violating HIPAA. While we are not currently asking all employees to wear masks, this is subject to change in the future. We are still providing KN95 masks and face shields to any employee who requests one. We are also working on creating an emblem that employees can put outside of their office/ workstation to notify others that a mask is requested before entering their workspace. Masks are not mandatory as of today, but this could change in the future. It is unfortunate that COVID has become a political issue. Because of this, any decision made will be cited as favoring one political party or another. The political beliefs of HCSS employees is completely irrelevant. Employees are encouraged to speak up time and time again, and there has been direct action as a result of employee feedback.
