Pros

Not really many pros to share. I guess the best benefit is the flexibility to work remote. That way you didn't have to go into the depressing office where most of the talk would be around the last or next layoff.

Cons

Overall a depressing place to work. I'm in the IT department and the office design, cubes and lighting is very old and dark. Not a place that is going to breed creative ideas or innovation. They are constantly changing Senior management. In my time here, there have seen 3 different VP's of IT. Not a stable place for your career. The mid level managers are very incompetent and do not have a clear direction of where the team is going. Also the culture is based on fear. There is a layoff on average of every 3- 4 months. This is not a way to ensure your employees are motivated and productive. This company is very cheap with benefits. The healthcare plan is a joke, minimum 401k match, and the ESPP is not even worth your time. If you are thinking of joining the HD Supply IT team, think long and hard about it. They will have no issues laying you off if they need to. I would advise staying away from this company unless you are desperate.

Pros

There is job security if you can get past the cons.

Cons

They say they care; unless you request a pay raise, a future path, ask the why's to policies, or ask if they would be willing to do a hybrid shift if they are not going to subsidize gas with the prices right now. Jacksonville is very cliquish, If you make their favorite supervisor made, then all of leadership is mad at you. They will find a way to fire you if they so please instead of giving you a chance to make improvements. Health is not important to them. You will pay 1400 dollars a month in insurance for your family, and if you use it, then get ready for those co-pays, They offer tuition program, unless you would like to be reimbursed per their SOP. Do not fear! You will not get a pay raise for education acheivements
