Pros

Really wonderful people work there, it's a family-like culture Some departments have hybrid schedules Generous PTO - start w/4 wks and move to 6 wks after 5 years Leadership staff is easily accessible, are great mentors and encourage work-life balance Benefits are decent and pretty affordable Downtown location with free parking in garage Non-profit work is rewarding Very inclusive, mandatory diversity & inclusion training Strong values Company is always growing - the job is stable

Cons

Being a non-profit, the accounting/finance salaries are below average, and every couple of years there might be a small bonus but overall the comp is not competitive. I would say you are doing mid-level and some senior level accounting for entry level comp. Annual raises are small, 3% or so. However, if you have student loans you are eligible for the public service forgiveness.

Pros

start with 4 weeks PTO and can earn up to 6 weeks after a few years, taking PTO is not only encouraged but mandatory. Everyone is very welcoming, and the work is rewarding. They offer gender neutral bathrooms. meditation room, inclusivity training for LBGTQ & race relations, the company is consistently growing and adding more opportunities

Cons

most positions are 100% on-site, some departments like finance offer hybrid, no fully remote work. Salaries are somewhat low because it’s a non-profit

Pros

Hours Location Residents nice Travel

Cons

Poor management/ company has a high turnover rate. Why is upper management not held accountable for how they “train” employees. Lack of consistent training. You are trained for a week, then you’re on your own. Inconsistent training Inconsistent communication. You’re told several things, then told something else later. Not a very welcoming environment, especially from higher ups. Even when you think you’re doing it right, they micromanage your daily tasks. Not an environment where you can develop and grow.
