Pros
The Austin water group is large and growing, we are constantly winning new and exciting work. There is a push to always be billable, but with the amount of work we have available to us, this isn't an issue. We're busy, but not asked to work extremely long hours unless it's a big push for a day or two before a submittal. I absolutely love the work/life balance in the water group here. There is no pressure from management to not take your PTO, in fact, most of the managers take regular vacations themselves. In my experience, managers have been flexible with hours worked (work more in the beginning of the week and leave early Friday) which has been awesome to keep my social life as a YP. We have no strong mentorship program in the group, but it is very easy to reach out and work with several technical experts in our office when struggling with a problem.
Cons
The company claims an education reimbursement ($25k) but it's pulling teeth to get them to actually agree to fund you if they agree at all. Managers are reluctant to hand over management of minor projects/task to younger PEs which slows career growth. Central Texas is one of the most profitable regions in the company, but that success earns us no more than a pat on the back.
