Pros
Highly relevant business and interesting projects, very international and diverse workforce, above-average salaries for Berlin, generally good company culture for a corporation of this size. Mostly competent employees. HERE is finally finding its mission after the Nokia phase, and while the transition isn't easy for everyone, it's looking like a change for the better.
Cons
Still lots of silos and little kingdoms all over the world, though that seems to be improving. Many sites and departments try to run their own stuff and are resistant to change or even any kind of central direction. This also shields some bad teams from scrutiny and necessary consequences. Some notorious deathmarch projects that wear down engineers and limp from (missed) milestone to milestone. Unhealthy pressure from owners. HERE still hasn't established itself as a brand - many people have never heard of it or, if anything, think "it's an app" and don't know what the company overall does. Search for investors outside the three German carmakers' consortium makes slow progress.
