Pros

Not many. There are a handful of people in the office that actually work and take prode in what they do. The V.P. of Operations is a great guy and tries his best to give everyone the tools, info & equipment they need to do their job successfully.

Cons

This list is going to be a bit longer....... The owner has an ego the size of Texas, In interviews he tells everyone that it is a family oriented company, that is true, his family is constantly put in positions that they have no clue what they are doing. He also says that you will be given every tool and all of the training you need to be successful. That is false, myself and other general superintendents spent a majority of our time running small tools(compactors, hammer drills, concrete vibrators, ect.) around central Indiana because they didnt want to invest any money into the company. Most of the superintendents brought personal tools in to use so they could get their jobs completed. Constantly battled getting the right supplies or equipment to the jobs, was told a minimum of 15 times in 30 days that the company was on C.O.D. or the account was on lock due to non-payment. Multiple phone calls from sub contractors saying they would not show up due to non payment. One estimator in the whole company actually knew what he was doing. Most jobs are bid so low(due to the owner randomly cutting money out pre bid) that it is almost impossible to be successful. Then the guys in the field get blamed for the job losing money or they aren't meeting unrealistic production goals. If you like doing paperwork or sitting in meetings that cover the same things Multiple times a week, this will be a great fit for you. General Superintendents are expected to act as project managers, because they dont have project managers, they do not offer any extra compensation for this. Also they will not tell you about this up front, but The owner and a couple of other people will try to throw you under the bus for not doing said P.M. work. In the short time i was employeed there I realized that they are not good or even proficient at anything other than losing money, not paying bills, & hiring the owners friends & family.
