Cons
This is an old company, and they don't like to pay for things. I often went to trainings necessary for my job that I had to go to on my own time as they hated when you did anything that wasn't project related. They're very stingy. My group in particular wasn't great to work for. Training was non-existent and my young boss had the attitude of 'if I had to figure all this out for myself than you should too.' When I asked questions I often got vague answers and was then told things I did were wrong even though no one could originally tell me how they should be done. You can only get ahead if you kiss up, and favoritism is rampant. I asked multiple times for help getting where I wanted to go in the company and my boss was never really willing to help me because it wouldn't benefit her. Others who went out drinking with her were often the ones promoted.
