A good year to look back on but not to ever repeat. Valuable experience in a fun but volatile workplace; promotion? ha! - Music Hall Event Operations Staff HOB Entertainment Employee Review

Pros

Work with artists staff, and help production team to make the show go on, and on time! The best co-workers, a fun, upbeat energy almost always. LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT! oppurtunities to work in every department based on the night's turnout and show's operational/technical requirements. Meet local celebrities, Famous touring artists on occasion, never miss a concert.

Cons

-Being attacked by angry, drunk guests. -Escorting overintoxicated guests out side, while trying to be helpful and nice as you are barraged with every insult and name in the book. -Mis-management, Shady managers who break house rules, Power hungry "Bouncer-turned-Supervisor" guys who do not have the proper ability to manage 75-100 employees on a given, sold-out show night. Violent situations that arise from time to time....a lack of consistency in policies, organizational structures, and management hierarchy which resulted in a confused staff team that will not meet thier potential because of these complications.

Pros

Great benefits, great co-workers as long as you are in the right position. The company is owned by a larger corporate company and will probably be a better place to work once all those benefits are passed down.

Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement or growth unless you want to move. Even when a position opens up, they still look outside of the company for candidates. Unless you are hourly, there is no work/life balance, expect you to work overtime, 6-7 days a week, and don't offer comp time. They also have very limited holidays which don't include Memorial day or Labor day, even though the office is closed - you are expected to take a vacation day.
