Pros

Some remote flexibility. Good to be away so that you pretend you don't work at this company.

Cons

If you think this product is going to change marketing, walk away. Top guy lacks vision and leads by fear. Stock options are probably worthless since leadership seeks control, not wealth. If you think you can influence the company culture, walk away. Leaders could care less what you think. They'll do some hand waving to shut you up and go about business as usual. The top guy decides the culture, you're just a peon doing his bidding before he gets rid of you. If you think the company has a diverse and inclusive team, walk away. Hispanic men everywhere and hiring more. Speaking of machismo, many female leaders left before their first year ended and sometimes conversations are only in Spanish, even if some people on the team don't speak a word of it. If you think there are opportunities to grow with this company, walk away. Leaders have an issue handing out Senior roles if you're starting off. If the top guy doesn't like you, you will never succeed. Beware! His temper is fleeting and constantly changing. If you think the opportunity and company is too good to be true, walk away. Don't be fooled by the startup glow and diverse team. You are and will always be the last person on the top guys mind. Find another company whose leader went to a good university, earned their role based on hard work and not privilege, managed many quality SaaS companies for years, and has a bright outlook. Walk away because you're not gonna find that here.

Pros

I've worked with more then a dozen tech companies in full-time and consulting roles. HYP3R is a rare gem. Not only is the company one of the most diverse companies in Silicon Valley, it is also one of the most transparent and collaborative I've seen. When I first signed on a year ago I was admittedly hesitant given the Glassdoor reviews here. I am a HUGE advocate for a strong company culture. That said, the perception here could not be more incorrect. I've never seen a CEO so frequently thank his team for their hard work and get to know everyone's individual strengths. During the last year I've watched multiple teammates get promotions, raises, and title changes that they sincerely deserved. I personally have been pushed hard and rewarded for my creativity and strategic contributions. It's refreshing to know you're growing your skills and given autonomy in your role. Every day I watch the HYP3R team work collaboratively to make marketing truly welcomed for people. It's not uncommon for the sales, customer success, analytics and product teams to come together and brainstorm new ways to help customers surprise and delight guests, celebrate them, and scale real, 1:1 conversations. This is the type of marketing I believe in, and the type of truly relevant and special marketing that people want. As for other perks, HYP3R provides a ton of flexibility and vacation time, which people actually take. It's not uncommon to see someone's kids or grandparents in the office. We have frequent Town Halls where we talk about the REAL opportunities and challenges the team faces - not just surface level stuff. From BBQs, Diplo concerts, in-office parties and panels for our clients, Napa, and more, it's also a lot of fun around here, but that comes far second for me compared to the growth opportunity at HYP3R. HYP3R's culture has never been better. While the company may have experienced some growth pains in the past, we have the right people in the right roles now, and that's refreshing.

Cons

HYP3R clearly experienced bumps hiring people into the wrong roles in the past. I think the company felt that pain and is overcoming it now. People who aren't able to work autonomously, be creative and strategic, and work in a fast-paced environment are not going to be a fit here. People who do not take well to feedback and aren't comfortable giving it will also struggle.
