Pros
One word: discount. Also, decent health benefits and one-hour paid lunch. Generally attracts cool people so I liked my co-workers. I left with the feeling that, if I had to work for a company, Half Price was a good one. I felt valued and the compensation was pretty good.
Cons
On the other hand, the chain is growing, and there are growing pains as a result. The store I worked at, in Plano, is bombarded with more book sales than it can handle and I understand it's miserable to work in the buy area right now. Benefits and perks might be scaled back as the company grows.
