Pros

People generally have good intentions

Cons

Expertise in the company seems to be lacking. Very poor quality in terms of training young engineers or interns and no standards, which makes everything really unorganized. People in leadership and PM roles are often not experienced or informed enough to do their role. It’s not good when the “most experienced go-to person” can’t answer questions for younger staff. Makes you feel like you’re on a sinking ship with no life line. Stagnating growth, behind in technology applications and programs (realize this if you want to move on to other companies after this, could be extremely behind in your next role). Old school mentality, resistant to change and progressive views. Health insurance is pretty bad. And we’ve seen quite a few layoffs recently. Work life balance is questionable- I get emails from multiple team members after 9pm and while they’re on vacation.

Pros

- Quiet workplace environment - Relatively stable work (team dependent) - Can be a decent place to work depending on your needs/ wants

Cons

Overall, here is a summary of the company: - Some good teams- the company has some stronger departments, whereas others are not well supported in the organization - Poor benefits and compensation, slow progression/ no progression of salary, no yearly adjustments, no sick leave - Cross-team communication & collaboration were consistently very unorganized; each team is operating on very different managerial practices - The environment radiates the low-budget, value-engineered work that the company largely takes on, in terms of personalities within the office, as well as overall company morale. This will work for you if you value the stability it provides, but it will be difficult to advance in this organization if you aren't in alignment.
