Pros

I stay because I work with wonderful co-workers - we are like a family.

Cons

This company does not care about their employees. It is all about the money. You think of Hallmark as warm & fuzzy but that is not the case. It is probably the worst company that I have ever worked for. There is no support for the employees and they would soon as fire you then keep you if you have any complaint from a customer. They don't care how a customer treats you. You are to take all the customer's abuse and even if you are in the right they will not stand behind you. Their benefits are terrible. They expect you to lift heavy boxes and this company is always changing the store so the work is non stop and you never get a thank you for any of your hard work from upper management. The store managers take a lot of abuse from the higher ups and they are underpaid and overworked just like the part-time staff are. The quality of their merchandise is going downhill. They are bringing in Dollar Store merchandise and charging a lot of money for junk. This was a nice company when I first started but now that the US has taken over the Canadian Division it has gone downhill and will never be the same.

Pros

Great company and great people! Very thorough training program.

Cons

It can be hard work! Some stores don't have deliveries where they're suppose to be and you have to go searching. You have an allotted amount time to spend at each store.

Pros

My colleagues and former boss were wonderful and supportive. The job was pretty easy and working at several different stores kept me from getting bored.

Cons

Pay is too low. New management ruined everything, at least in my world. My boss resigned because of her new boss coming in trying to micromanage her when my boss had been with the company 20+ years and didn't want to deal with that which I understand. Then I got terminated by that new boss after I told her about my newly diagnosed personality disorder which is illegal. I already filed a formal complaint with the EEOC and have an interview with them next month.
