Pros

Good pay and benefits. For those who like political cultures, this place fits.

Cons

Site leadership team defaults to using fear, bullying, and PIPs to push out neurodivergent engineers on multiple occasions. Managers are expected to be individual contributors first, and managers second, which results in minimal guidance, unspoken/unwritten expectations (Job Descriptions are general and subjective, but used as the rule to justify punishment), and extreme stress at all levels of the organization. Manufacturing team is green, but expects expert level performance from new hires. Manufacturing leadership often conflicts with their own plans, are slow to respond, and point fingers instead of hold themselves accountable. Quality team keeps losing good engineers, and their current direction (intentional or not) is NOT to back fill the positions. Product Development does not have new business, so opportunities there are shrinking. I would expect layoffs shortly in 2025.

Halozyme offers a highly collaborative and engaging environment where individuals truly have the opportunity to contribute and make an impact. There is strong access to executive leadership, which creates visibility and the ability to influence decisions. The company encourages creativity and empowers employees to build and improve processes. Most importantly, the people are authentic, supportive, and genuinely care not just about each other, but about the mission. There is a clear focus on keeping patients at the center of everything we do, which makes the work meaningful.

Cons

As the company continues to grow, there are opportunities to further streamline processes and ensure consistent alignment across teams.

Pros

Good technology, some co-workers can be nice.

Cons

The company's business model is to have cyclical layoffs which increasingly became often. Very scary place to work when you feel your job isn't secure especially in a highly competitive field.
