Pros
Pay and vacation is ok. Newer employees are undertrained. However they are not putting up with the BS and it’s so nice to see that they can move on and not worry about being loyal to a ship that is sinking .
Cons
Out of touch management -actually they are openly dishonest and try to hide their mistakes and at same time , punish employees for mistakes that are made or even dishonesty but in the most extreme terms . Nepotism and favouritism runs rampant. They buy their awards . The board seems to be either complacent or otherwise refuse to acknowledge or accept how employees openly talk about the state of the crisis of front line policing and other issues. The community is also clueless and those that are vocal are shut down . Complaints by the public are suppressed . ( check Google reviews ) Overall, HRPS has been run into the ground . If it were a private business, the chief would have been fired long ago and the place would have been bankrupt. I have been working there for decades and even though there were issues before . I feel the management style of recent times is egotistical and very arrogant and entitled and this attitude has flowed downwards to the employees. The Sense of community and teamwork that we once had no longer exists. Looking forward to moving on soon . Thank you for the good times back in the day !
