Pros
HRWC has an incredibly talented workforce. You will meet some of the hardest working people you've ever met there. The mission is also one that is easy to get behind. They tried to have a morale committee to boost morale but everyone is worked so hard it's a huge burden to even participate in the events. Some positions depending on their management seem to have a lot of perks and are having a different experience than others because of good leadership.
Cons
Virginia retirement is sold to you as stellar, but the match isn't competitive in this market at all. Health insurance is very expensive for a family. Strong boys club mentality. Executive/senior leadership are all best friends that the ceo brought in. Everyone thinks that the organization is thriving because of great PR and marketing (always in the news), but really its a handful of employees working theirselves to death to achieve the success for very little pay and no recognition. Organization is completely split and not because of the merger. Entire organization is very understaffed and we can't fill positions because the pay is so low and word has gotten around town how bad people are overworked. There is NO HR department so you have no where to file complaints of harrassment or negligent behavior, etc. which really seems illegal. There also was no IT person until a few months ago and now that person is so overworked no one can still get any help. Overall, if everyone that makes the company successful realized their worth and left it would all fall apart.
