Pros

Hatch is a great opportunity for career motivated individuals who value culture and accountability. I love work with Hatch because each day is a new day full of opportunities and people to connect with. Hatch also provides so many great benefits and opportunities unlike many other employers. The culture and dynamic is fun, expressive, and supportive! I would definitely recommend!

Cons

This role is not for a super passive person. If you do not have internal motivators, this type of work can be very tough.

Pros

Hatch's internship is great for building a solid foundation for young professionals. The size of the company allows for autonomy; letting interns experience different facets of the company such as recruiting, accounting, and sales. You will be assigned a mentor, and will work with him or her throughout the summer to track your progress and discuss feedback. Each week you will have the opportunity to hear a speaker from a company in the greater Milwaukee area. This is one of the most easily overlooked benefits in my opinion. Not only do they provide you with valuable insight not available at other internships, but they are great for networking. I have already met with one speaker to discuss future employment. My experience here is an asset I can elaborate on in future interviews, something many interns from larger companies can't do, and has served as an excellent entry into my career.

Cons

Pay is commission based. You do get out what you put in, but in my case I had limited time because of a second job. Compensation is not ideal, but I wouldn't trade the experience for a bigger paycheck. In the big picture, the experience is more valuable than the paycheck. If you plan to work a second job, it's crucial you use your time wisely. Otherwise you'll find difficulty balancing the two.
