Pros

Headspace has a great mission and is a world renowned brand that attracts a ton of talent. The company offers a great deal of flexibility, including every other Friday off. Additional pro is the new CEO

Cons

But… leadership is lackluster at best and DEIB is Performative. Overall, the environment is toxic and an unsafe space for BIPOC, especially black women. If your work style doesn’t adhere to white Eurocentric norms, or if you’re not palatable enough, the microaggressions and non-verbal cues that you don’t belong will drive you to take or seriously consider a leave of absence in order to preserve your own sanity and mental health (the irony!). You will be passively aggressively reprimanded. The population of black women who have voluntarily resigned and/or been “managed out” for having a different work or communication styles while actually doing their jobs is mind-blowing. Meanwhile white counterparts and executives get to run a muck and underperform with little to no consequences. The current executives are not the right leaders for Headspace and do not have a vision or the expertise to execute and take the company forward. They are disconnected.

Pros

-they offer great resources for members to utilize -continued education to sharpen your coaching skills

Cons

-there have been so many changes and expectations that are frustrating to navigate -they expect way too much for so little pay and no benefits -this role is so taxing on your own mental health... many of the members that you see aren't a good fit for coaching, so you're also filtering a lot of members for therapy and navigate really heavy mental health conversations that aren't within the scope of coaching -feedback isn't delivered live, it's all put in a spreadsheet that's clearly input by automation
