Pros

- Most (all?) positions are fully remote and the company had been moving in that direction before Covid cemented it. Work-life balance is wonderful and flexible (and endless PTO doesn't hurt). - Fantastic culture even being a small remote company; really appreciate how friendly everyone is, without it being a cult-like "we're a family" environment. - I have a lot of respect/appreciation for the exec team! Everyone I've interacted with has been very no-BS, seems to genuinely care about the company and employees, and have great experience/leadership skills. There's a lot of transparency into what's happening to the company and financials, plus many opportunities to ask questions. - Very inclusive company, legitimately embraces diversity. Honestly had the best harassment/discrimination training I've ever seen. - Company really invests in its people -- Pay and benefits are great, training is no joke, and reimbursement for office equipment / education. - Lots of trust in the average employee; plenty of autonomy and encouragement to try new things. - I like that the product came out of university research! Although it is a for-profit company, it feels more meaningful than your average corporate environment.

Cons

- A lot of typical small company challenges: lack of resources (though this has been much less stressful than my past work experiences), documentation is lacking, any turnover makes a big impact. - Recently some really good employees have left. This might be related to Covid, but it's concerning nonetheless, especially with mentions in other reviews. - It seems like Engineering has some management problems, but I don't work closely enough to understand what's going on there. - If you work with protected health information, you have to jump through tech hoops for compliance reasons and it can be a pain (especially if something breaks). - There are quite a few different products/tools (some of which are easily confused) and it takes a long time understanding how it all fits together. Newer products might still be under construction.
