Pros

Lots of very hard working, caring employees. Employees really pull together whenever there is a personal crisis of a coworker. Lots of institutional knowledge. Some departments still have the "small company" feel to them.

Cons

Senior Management doesn't understand enough about the day-to-day operations. They think they get it because some came up through the ranks, but times have changed & they have not kept up. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. There doesn't seem to be anyone, at the top, who has a grasp on what is going on within the entire organization. They just seem to put out fires. No overall vision. Favoritism abounds. They keep certain staff members because they are well "liked" not because of their abilities. They promise new customers the world & then task the rank & file to make it happen when the resources are not available. Many employees are grossly overworked.

Pros

There are no longer any pros. Previously, one could say there were good people to work with, but most of those people are gone.

Cons

HPS always had it's challenges, but you could still try to work hard and enjoy your co-workers. A lot of them were really good people. All of that changed when the company was purchased by Wipro, a company based in India. They came on-site and told the existing staff a pack of lies, because they did not want anyone to leave before they were ready to make the cuts themselves. They launched a large project designed to document processes under the guise of efficiency and streamlining. However, it was just a ploy to get the processes documented so they could lay off the American employees and outsource to their own people in India. The Wipro management is arrogant and incompetent, and they are unable to manage to complexities of the business at HPS. They are single-threaded thinkers who are currently running the company into the ground. The clients are all leaving, because they are tired of the poor service and do not want to do business with the new owners. Seems like the owners just wanted another foothold in the U.S., as they certainly do not want to make this company profitable. It's a shame for the longtime employees who really wanted to do the right thing.
