Pros

This is specifically for Hearst Television. With TV stations across the country, Hearst offers a lot of room for growth, particularly if you're willing to move. Because of that growth, entry-level and other jobs are often available. It's a great place to learn the TV and digital journalism business and potentially have a lasting career. Stations in small markets to big markets means you can probably find a good fit.

Cons

Don't necessarily expect high salaries, though that's an issue across the industry. Advancement might be limited for some positions if you're unwilling to relocate. Like most daily journalism gigs, hours can be bad, especially for those just getting into the field, if you don't like working late nights or early mornings.

Pros

Well-organized and good communication. As a contractor, I found Hearst to be a pleasure to work with.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report other than that the accounts payable is out of North Carolina and can take 60 days to receive payment.
