Pros

Growing company, with some really great people, but the HR leadership is about the worst I've ever seen. Very rude, no confidentiality, pass their resonsibilities on to everyone else and give good people an unrealistic workload.

Cons

Insurance is horrible, pay is low, the lead HR women are rude and very unpleasant to work with and the CEO does not care about the people that work here or who they are. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Sorry to hear that your experience was poor. A lot has changed over the years and we have made a number of positive changes since then including: 1. Pay changes and market adjustments 2. Leadership changes 3. Involving people in changes that impacts them 4. Soliciting regular feedback

Pros

as a new person coming into the field, everyone at heartland have been more then happy to help/train. a lot of people on first shift have 20+ years of experience in label printing and if your stuck on something they are more then willing to help. Heartland has a very "family" feel to it, with the yearly picnic and team bonding events its clearly easy to see why heartland has such a great culture. Everyone is very personable and get to know you. Everyone is willing to help. all of the label support people in the office have had operator experience so if no ones around you can always get them. the pay: $20 starting a hour for operators (with shift differential). with 17-20 being other support positions. the supervisors/Managers are all very helpful. they are very patient with helping you understand something. OT: the overtime is endless. since ive been here (1 year) i havent had to work "forced" overtime. they offer double and triple time for any hours worked over your normal shift. if you enjoy working and like money, Heartland is the place for you.

Cons

12 hour shifts. some 10 hour shifts would be nice.

Thank you for your comment and sharing. We are continuing to work on things and are moving in the right direction. Like you had noted about 10 hour shifts above we did switch to 10 hours shifts at our Little Chute plant for our Monday - Thursday shifts (1st and 2nd Shift). Our weekend shifts, Friday - Sunday, work 12 hours each of the 3 days and while working 36 hours get paid for 40 hours. In addition, our Maine facility has switched to 4 (10 hour shifts). They are also working Monday - Thursday. Our California plant works 5 (8 hour shifts) Monday - Friday.

Pros

Solid company with good direction in a tough market.

Cons

Not a high-margin business, so pay is competitive, but can't always match some bigger houses.
