Pros

Heidelberg is a great company. The best in the industry. I worked there for nearly 30 years and had a really great position. I knew (and still know) almost everyone there, including many colleagues in Germany and other parts of the world. They offer great benefits and by-and-large treat their employees well. Heidelberg is without a doubt the leader in the industry and I loved being involved with the highest of high tech. Given the right opportunity I would consider going back to Heidelberg, even though I am very happy with what I am doing now.

Cons

Management has changed many times over the years, sometime for the better and sometimes for the worse (speaking of Heidelberg USA). I think right now things are good because the president is a really good guy and is supported by a good staff of senior management. The bad thing is that with ever increasing work and ever decreasing people to do it, certain jobs can be a bit overwhelming. As others have rightly pointed out, the printing industry is shrinking, and with that so must companies like Heidelberg. I was laid off. but have no sour grapes and left on very good terms.

Pros

Given the tools and resources desired to build up skills and work ethic. Reasonable and fairly consistent work hours. Benefits offered are also super helpful as well as they have a decent variety. Great work/life balance as well.

Cons

In this position, you are away from family and/or friends for quite a long time sometimes. That's something you definitely have to take into account. Lots of travel by car and/or by plane, and if you aren't a fan of it you really will not enjoy this.

Pros

Benefits are good. Work life balance can also be good.

Cons

Current leadership lacks the necessary skills and direction to manage effectively, which is having a significant negative impact on the company’s performance and overall health.
