Pros
Staff and students are lovely, go the extra mile to help each other.
Cons
Where to start. Ownership The owners who own Helicentre are some of the greediest, out of touch and incompetent people I’ve ever met. whilst they definitely a successful business, they are control freaks, steeped in ideology and methods of working from 20 years ago. They do not want to change nor do they want your input on how to improve. Their HR is as useful as a chocolate teapot, not sure what Level 3 HR course has been done but leave is never approved on time, having to chase constantly as well as staff and contractors being paid late on occasion. The directors/manager are only in managerial positions because they are family or friends, they have no real qualifications and do a sub-par job when they’re positions should be outsourced to experienced and knowledgeable individuals. Long hours as well as unpaid lunch and a camera system to monitor the exact minute you clock in and out. Senior management is basically just their slaves who do as they say and spy on their staff to report back. Some of the staff their work 24/7, outside of work all day everyday and don’t even get sick pay. Namely the head of training. Without the HoT Helicentre would have gone bust years ago, they are quite literally the beating heart of the place and they give every single second of their time to bettering the company despite the constantly bullying from the owner(s). I would avoid working here at all costs, unless you’re interested in aviation and want to see some cool helicopters every now and then.
