Pros

Wonderful mission and leadership team, an incredibly collaborative environment, and we have a very focused and transparent CEO and COO

Cons

None, it's an early stage environment that is fast paced and just requires people to be resourceful and proactive, but I see that as an exciting part about the work that we do and don't view it as a con

Pros

I've been volunteering with Helping Hands since my state had its initial "Shelter in Place" order. Seeing the death toll rise, my nurse and doctor friends out there on the frontlines, and realizing I was stuck indoors feeling helpless, I wanted to find a way to get involved and make a positive impact. It was great to find Helping Hands and that the people within the organization are all like me; driven to help our communities during this terrible time. Helping Hands runs very similarly to a startup environment. Everyone is scrappy, super smart, hardworking and are overall really cool people that values the mission. It's been a great opportunity for me to work on something that is putting smiles on people's faces and keeping them safe.

Cons

Because we are all remote and majority are working full-time or part-time jobs while volunteering for HHC, we have to go the extra mile to make it work and build connections. Our Weekly All-Hands help with that and provides great transparency on all initiatives going on week over week. But no doubt, it can be tough if someone is unable to time manage and be available for the commitment on certain projects and deliverables. However, if they can, it is definitely worth it and fulfilling.
