The company can feel siloed at times.

Profitable and financially solid investment company. Great benefits for long term employees. Company offers partial education reimbursement, 401K, profit sharing and a pension. Investments are interesting and experience provides a good learning opportunity for at least short term. Work load is cyclical and predictable so easy to plan around time off. The farm is great.

Management style is very bureaucratic with book keepers trying to be managers. Overall governance structure resembles a blue collar union shop. No opportunity for advancement unless you hit it off right away with the top clique. Atmosphere among longer term employees is miserable. Company is generally slow in technology adoption. Some employees have been there such a long time that they are not fit to work anywhere else so they remain there which creates a downward spiral toward inefficiencies for the company. For the employee, over time, this lowers their individual ROI. Long work hours. Office is very dated.
