Have nothing but positive things to say. I’m sure the work experience varies based on the actual research team and PI (who are al amazing) but I got very lucky to have an amazing PM who really advocates for me and has provided wonderful leadership, opportunities for mentorship and growth opportunities. Pay and benefits are very good.

Not anything negative to HJF but more of the nature of instability in contract work

Flexibility and independence. Worthwhile mission in public sector research with an aim to benefit active duty and veterans

Can be difficult to advance and get paid a competitive salary. Dealing with government red tape and regulations can stifle progress and set you back behind similar labs with regard to accesssing the latest and greatest technilogy
