Pros
It’s been wonderful to be back at Hero! After working here from 2017 to 2021 as an Account Manager, I rejoined the team in 2024 in a Strategic Account Manager role. Spending time away from Hero gave me a new perspective, and I realised just how much I missed the purpose-driven work and the incredible team culture here. What’s been really reassuring is that the things I loved about Hero haven’t changed. There’s still that same energy, drive, and focus on doing meaningful work that makes a difference. But I’ve also noticed how much the company has grown in the way it supports its people. Hero has always been a place where high standards are part of the DNA—that hasn’t changed, and for me, that’s something I love. It keeps you sharp, focused, and always learning. But I’ve also seen how the business has put more emphasis on creating balance. Things like flexible working arrangements, monthly RDOs, and the space to show up as your whole self have definitely evolved. There’s an understanding that life doesn’t stop outside of work, and I’ve personally always felt supported in that space. One thing that’s really stood out to me is the way feedback is encouraged and welcomed. Through Kiazen and everyday conversations, I’ve found that leadership is really open to hearing ideas and suggestions, as long as you’re coming to the table with solutions. It feels like everyone has a voice and can contribute to how we keep improving as a business and evolving as a team. It’s definitely a high-performing environment, but it’s also a place where you’re trusted to do your job, with plenty of support if you need it. I’ve always felt I can approach my role in a way that plays to my strengths, while knowing the team’s got my back. For me, Hero has always been special, and coming back has only reaffirmed that. It’s not the kind of place where you can fly under the radar, but if you love to be challenged, want to grow, and enjoy working alongside passionate, caring people, it’s a pretty incredible place to be.
Cons
Hero is a high-performing, collaborative environment that values dedication and continuous growth. It’s not the right fit for those who want to coast or stay under the radar—success here requires drive and a commitment to continual improvement.
