Great place to grow, not to stay. - Manager In Training (MIT) Hibbett Sports Employee Review

Pros

The small teams make bonding easier. There are a lot of opportunities to learn valuable skills in the field. Pay is competitive for the position.

Cons

Management varies district by district and you might pull the short stick. You are often left to the wolves when things go wrong, often taking the fall and receiving the consequences of another's actions. Pay is fairly minimal.

Cons

I worked for the company for over 8 years and recently parted ways October 2025. I put so much time and energy into my store and was dedicated to any challenge as well as doing additional things for the district, With that being said, I hadn't gotten a bonus the entire year due to a negative comp gain, as well as the company changing the bonus tier yet again, to make it harder to reach goal. I tried to get a better selection of inventory to help - no luck. So I ended up speaking with my DM and tried to get a raise and was quickly denied. After that, I decided to part ways and put in my 2 week notice. Fast forward to 3 weeks after my resignation, a new store manager got hired making well over what I was getting paid (after 8 years of my time). My attendance was almost perfect, never late and a great team player. My store consistently got ignored - from broken walls, missing/broken racks, no CC TV for our safety (even after attempted robbery) , and the list goes on. - Now, less than 6 months later, that manager is already gone...
