Pros

There are many pros about working at High Rise. This fast-growing organization has definite potential for greatness. Almost everyone works remotely and there is a truly diverse staff from all over the world. Executive leadership is very involved and is accessible when it comes to escalation of lending decisions. Most everyone is helpful and nice and bonus, you don't have to dress up for zoom calls. Having spoken with sales professionals in the same field, their view is that the company is perceived as classy, conscientious, and conservative (not and easy reputation to attain in this field). Google ratings are also high. Processes involve many steps and can be nuanced, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually fairly simple and makes sense. Sales is provided with plenty of tools and support for success and growth. Interacting with PI law firms is fun and their clients often have interesting stories. It keeps every day new and fresh. Autonomy and being viewed as a valuable contributer are things must be earned at High Rise. Regardless of the role you're hired for, these will not based on the merit of employment history. I am enjoying being a part of growing this organization and hope to expand the scope of my leadership contribution in the future.

Cons

As with any growning organization, there are small hurdles and challenges as many things are evolving. Executive leadership is investing in streamlining workflow which demonstrates foresight and bodes well. I am part of a newer team working remotely. It can feel a bit isolated/siloed, so it's on each individual to reach out to other teams, build relationships internally, and create a work tribe, but that has not proven to be too difficult. Processes for hiring and other HR functionalities can be a bit tangled, but typically work out for the best. Interdepartmental communication could be better too, but again, that goes with the territory, and is common even in seasoned organizations. Ultimately I have very much enjoyed my experience at High Rise so far and really hope to earn enough respect through my contributions to continue my growth at the company.

Pros

My first year at Highrise Financial has been a great privilege. As an after-hours agent, I learned to work independently with minimal supervision. The training and guidance from supervisors helped me gain confidence in my role. I also appreciate the supportive and friendly work environment.

Cons

There were times when working independently was challenging, especially during busy periods. Communication can sometimes be improved for better clarity and efficiency.

Pros

Compensation - a decent base salary but commission is very unpredictable and out of your control what the UW team approves Coworkers are nice and supportive (when they’re not being laid off)

Cons

Management is extremely disorganized and sets unrealistic, constantly changing goals. Decisions are made based on short-term profit rather than employee success or stability. Layoffs happen constantly and without any reasoning, other than cost-cutting and greed. Work is regularly outsourced to South Africa and the Philippines so the company can pay as little as possible. There is absolutely no work-life balance. If you take a day off you will still receive nonstop calls, texts, and emails and are expected to respond. Boundaries are not respected at all. Territory management is a mess. I, along with others, were hired for a territory that already had existing reps working it, something leadership somehow “didn’t realize” until after hiring multiple people. This led to constant internal conflict and lost opportunities through no fault of the reps. The company hires reps who break contracts at other companies that take clients within territories you’ve already built and worked hard on. Overall, leadership lacks ethics, organization, and respect for employees. If you’re looking for job stability, fairness, or a healthy work environment, this is not the place.
