Okay where to start? This review is for the phoenix airport location within 2 weeks of working for this company I wanted to quit low wages, only sick time offered to part time employees the bare legal minimum in order to use it you must be sick you cannot use it as you please unlike other companies. No holiday pay for part time no vacy or PTO, PTO don't exist for F/T or P/T . Probation is 3 months you can not transfer out until 6 months incomplete employee hand book. Super disfunctional if you are a bartender the pool share is a mess it's to difficult for them to run a shift to make sure you get you're earned share of tips. You will not be supplied with simple things you need if something breaks it's going to stay that way. No pm host in the restaurant to add to the disfunction. Management in the department is unprofessional will try to write you up for things you got the ok to do from them personally (yes you read that right!). Management also likes to play the blame game when they make mistakes. Supervisors are nice but have no answers to basic questions and broken promises. just pure disrespect I was treated like a maid and personal bar back for an employee who refused to stock up after themselves. supervisors are either undertrained or just dont care. You will have to stay on top of everything I mean everything paperwork W4 forms hours worked everything! Make sure everything has been processed correct if it isn't you will only find out the hard way no one will tell you. I received so many wrong answers that I started to believe supervisors etc were delusional. Manager and supervisors come off as nice but actions speak louder than words! please keep in mind it's only a paycheck there are no other benefits to working for them. Clientele is less than desirable some are alright but for the most part are rude and lack manners in the restaurant, the feeling of empowed to make your own decisions don't exist matter of fact it's not even something I heard of here. I found the restaurant to be very unclean lacking sanitation. New hires will learn the hard way as you go! even getting a employee meal was made difficult. Pay period is akward as well. the sad part was I really enjoyed my job itself but Highgate lost me with the above plus more.

Cons

This company has absolutely no flexibility for employee requests however you are expected to work 7 days a week , 15-18 hour days. Medical restrictions and disabilities don’t mean anything. No compromise on their part. No recognition, No compensation, No mental health support … They will burn you out, not care how their workplace tactics affect you or your work moving forward. They will then set you up to fail then use it as a reason to start the process of getting rid of you. No empathy for people. They refuse to accommodate requests for certain people but then others, no problem. Discrimination & Favoritism, I have never met a group with such evil intentions. All their claims about employees first are farthest from the truth. They only follow policies when it is convenient for them and depending on who it’s for. It’s all about who you know , not what you know Bottom line - the company is a total scam. The less you do the better. The excuses and practices for over compensating upper management is a joke.
