Pros

Exposure to multiple sides of the industry.

Cons

I joined this firm with strong expectations and a genuine desire to contribute. While the role appears, on paper, to offer responsibility and exposure in a lean organization, the challenges here are not transitional or resource-related—they are structural. Lack of operating infrastructure Core processes, workflows, and reporting standards are either undefined or change frequently. This creates ongoing rework and unpredictability that makes it difficult to produce durable, high-quality work. No receptiveness to improvement What distinguishes this environment is not ambiguity itself, but the lack of openness to addressing it. Efforts to introduce structure, improve processes, or systematize workflows are not adopted, regardless of quality or intent. Over time, it becomes clear that how the business operates is tightly fixed. Responsibility without authority Employees are expected to take on significant responsibility across modeling, reporting, lender coordination, and problem-solving, but without the authority or consistency required to execute effectively. Decisions are often reversed late in the process, limiting autonomy and increasing avoidable stress. High turnover with a clear cause Turnover is high, which is understandable given the instability of the operating environment. This is not a function of workload or complexity, but of structural rigidity combined with frequent change. Bottom Line: This is not an environment where ambiguity can be productively navigated or improved over time. The lack of structure is not temporary, and initiative aimed at changing how the business operates is not welcomed, regardless of experience or capability. Candidates who believe they can “come in and fix things” should be especially cautious. The role is designed for execution within an existing, tightly held way of operating—not for system-building, process redesign, or independent judgment. For those seeking autonomy, influence over processes, or a growth-oriented environment, this is likely to be frustrating and limiting.

Pros

Company offers free lunch on Fridays.

Cons

Disorganized and chaotic management, toxic work environment, high turnover, high level of distrust. It is highly recommended to read the additional reviews of the company available on Glassdoor.com. They are very accurate about what is going on in the company. This company is not for those who: 1. Care about their mental health. 2. Love to work in a non-toxic environment. 3. Want to be appreciated and valued when doing a good job. 4. Appreciate a manager/CEO who doesn't talk about them behind their back to other employees, clients, and vendors. 5. Wish to work for a company that doesn't have a revolving door. The company has a very high turnover. Nearly the entire office changed numerous times in less than 2 years, including high-level executives (the upside is that as the company offers a paid welcome lunch when a new employee joins, there's a lunch nearly every week). There is a very high level of mistrust in employees and they are constantly required to say and show what they work on. The owner has working methods that create a lot of busy work, leaving little time for handling tasks that could actually tackle what needs to be done. The office has nearly no opportunities for growth and advancement, and there is no proper HR department or person to address issues.
