Pros
Great experience and hands-on. Good opportunity for recent graduates looking to build resume. This is a stepping stone job. Do not settle. While working keep looking for another job. Building a rapport with some of the patients is rewarding. However, this is a demanding job full of patients attention seeking throughout the entire shift!
Cons
No support from up top. Unprofessional and not organized. Staff is underpaid and taken advantage of. A lot of stressful days and nights. Working 12 hr shifts and supervisors coming down hard on the employees. If a job isn't a necessity right now keep looking. Don't work here. The people up top, don't know what it's like to be on the unit with the patients. Cannot last 5 mins before they are trying to get out of dodge, however, they are not understanding. Turn over rate is extremely high. This job is appealing, but everything that glitters isn't gold. A lot of kinks need to be worked out. If people knew some of the things that was happening on campus, I wonder would there still be a Hillside.
