Pros
You get pressured and guilt tripped into doing extra work that you're not qualified or trained in. You'll work harder than ever, with less pay. They tell you to take the lesser paycheck because at least you have job at the end of day. If you always say "yes", they will keep you because you're cheap and will do free work.
Cons
Got let go during a medical leave. Say it was for budget cuts. Worked for 5+ years. There is no loyalty or warning. Took a lesser paycheck the first time there were "budget cuts". If this keeps happening again and again, why do we even hire people? No one stays here, everyone keeps leaving. Upper management keeps lying and gossiping about everyone. Toxic workplace. COO and director does not know how to manage people or work in lab. Will not lift finger to help. Everyone good does not stay long, always leave quickly because they know workplace is toxic. No growth, upper management will say you're getting there and will be promoted, but never does. Director gossips about employees to people he interviews, never good things about the employees. Upper management forces people to write good reviews. They expect salary people to work more than their 9 hour work days, because they do not get overtime. Low quality work done by unqualified, unlicensed, uneducated people because they're cheaper to hire.
