Pros

It used to be a great company with very strong leaders from Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco etc. They all were recently fired by shutting down Bellevue and Denver location in the name of some strange "restructuring of the portfolio" led by an Ex GE leader. The insight group was created to incubate Hitachi's IoT portfolio. The team worked super hard to get a leadership position in Gartner quadrant. All this good work was done before GE guys took over the company. Now the new leaders take credit in every public appearance, town halls and video messages!

Cons

The new leaders have not only got their style but also brought in their GE culture. They are making sure Hitachi gets a new style. There is no respect for people unless you come from GE or at least have GE in your resume. Your opinion has no value unless you have personally worked with one of these GE leaders. The body language, the arrogance, the intimidating walk-in the aisles and to the extent of lack of minimal courtesy for peers. This company may soon go down like GE went. These leaders will ensure the whole portfolio collapses. They have already fired all senior product leaders, the CTO, and entire engineering team based in Bellevue. They also keep laying off people every couple of months. Most laid-off employees got 2 months of Garden leave or nothing.

Pros

Decent pay, average benefits, some autonomy to get things done

Cons

The entire leadership group that I was hired under was gone within 18 months and replaced but far worse examples. Micro-managing and then threatening corrective action plans as a means to force out those who they didn't like or earned too much. From a technology perspective, the storage products are average and inline with competition, but with far fewer reps in the field and no real marketing or inside sales to speak of, Hitachi Vantara is largely irrelevant in the Storage industry now.
