Pros
Bonuses, 4weeks PTO/year, STO, monthly phone reimbursement, & management that's willing to negotiate terms during the interview.
This company took a chance hiring me at the behest of the VP who new me from our last workplace to help take the CAD workload off the Owner's plate. The Owner personally invested time in training me in this position, provided me the tools to learn the rest on my own, and I've taken those tools & built upon that foundation to provide better support for our field crews, help us secure new work through digital takeoffs, & build out renewable & trenching work in CAD per the plans & our client's wishes. The company was willing to negotiate benefits during my interview: I live 68miles away, so they agreed to pay for my gas to & from work, & they allow me to work from home in the winter is the weather is terrible. No only that, but when my car started having issues, they provided me with a company vehicle as my own with a payment plan without interest; extremely generous of them. In my little over a year time at the company, I've received numerous bonuses in appreciation of my work, & the owner personally sends all employees a substantial Christmas gift from Snake River Farms. If there's anything you can't say about this company, it's that they don't care about their employees, because they most certainly do & go out of their way to show it to their employees.
Cons
Far from home (for me personally), so it makes for a long day when you are driving 136miles round trip daily. Salaried position, so no overtime pay, though that is offset by the bonuses provided.
