Michael Friedlander: - belittles and bullies his staff to their faces and behind their backs - yells - micromanages through security cameras in his ‘office’ (his apartment) - will threaten to fire you if you ask for a single accommodation - will dock your base rate and hours (keep track of when you clock in and out) - never fails to underpay - will cut your hours if he dislikes you - has extremely high standards for ice cream scooping and donut making (which he will change without informing staff until they make a ‘mistake’) - is racist to nonwhite employees, especially those whose first language isn’t English - will make you cry while on the job - gets angry when you’re looking to restock supplies and not at the counter - will take over your shift and send you home if you do something to anger him - gaslights you - gets angry at staff for training new employees and showing them around - made inappropriate comments about an employee’s scars

This is the most abusive work situation I have ever been in and that is saying a lot considering my history. He was unprofessional and inappropriate from the get go, my interview was with another girl and very terribly run as we were both uncomfortable with how he was speaking to us. My trial shift started on a day that there were issues with the AC unit and it was just me and him. He yelled at me took his anger out on me and had me do plumbing work on my trial shift. Then he got mad at me for expecting that I was to help in all areas because of the way he communicated to me about the AC. My first shift was even worse, I got no training and was thrown into the deep end with a 35 person party. He screamed at me the whole day even though I was doing good work and the customers were happy. Beyond his treatment of his employees, his entire business model is fraudulent the food is frozen and shipped and kept in unsanitary conditions and the cross contamination is abhorrent.
