Pros
You get to travel around the world, experience the local scene (food, life, etc) and you get to interact with different cultures.
Cons
You will work like you've never worked before. The few moments you get free, you will use to visit the port, do your laundry, party or sleep. Also, you will be pushed to "get promoted" to a higher rank, even if you are not interested. But the worst of all, after you are done with cruise ship life, most employers seem to think that your time onboard was all fun and games, not hard work.
