      Decent job and Intresting but a lot to learn - Product Advisor Holland & Barrett Employee Review

      Pros

      Learned a lot about natural remidies that is still very helpfull today. Helped a lot of people with issues and customers come back thanking me . Some of the staff were nice and good team work. Pay was low but was a few years ago now so not sure what it’s like now.

      Cons

      Had a lot of thefts in the store and manager had to beg head office to install security cameras. We was both women and felt unsafe as a lot of druggies and dodgy people will come in and steal manuka honey. Pressure to stop them which was impossible. Finaly cameras were put up. A lot to learn about products and had to do multiple choice exam which was hard while studying at uni. But if it was a full time job would be easier as your around products more. Head office put alot of pressure on maximising sales. People should be paid more for the amount of knowledge you need and the type of customers you deal with.

      Pros

      The only pro I can think of is the training that you receive. Although it can be hit and miss with some employees depending on what area you're working in and what role.

      Cons

      Prepare to be bombarded by KPIs and targets, you need to sell this with this, increase on this, 4 item link sale, Rewards for Life cards, magazines, samples, customer feedback cards is just a few of the things you have to remember. There's always a shortage of staff so be prepared if you're management to not have a lot of time off if any. You're never acknowledged for the work that you do and the time that you put in or rewarded for it. The area manager is always on your back asking why something hasn't been done, why you haven't met a certain target etc. Just all in all very stressful along with all the tests and training updates that you have to do in between.
