Pros

really nice people, it's in a good location and theres a farmers market wednesdays right outside. The staff is helpful and nice. They tend to have a positive outlook on life. It's an easy job once you figure out how to do the data entry. At that point you can listen to music and do your work on your own..

Cons

a lot of excel work doing lead-lists work can be overwhelming at times, but other times there's a little bit of downtime so if you like consistency this position is a little more all over the place. The staff is helpful but sometimes people ask you to do easy work for them because you're an intern, even though you have other work to do, sometimes it's hard to find balance and get your actual work done. They're still pretty understanding though. You just have to speak up about what you can do and what you don't have time to do. work only lasts a few months are per their contract

Pros

I was an editorial intern for THR. Interns are tasked with transcribing interviews (did a lot of this), research for writers doing a feature story, attaining documents from various outside locations, and drafting spread sheets. I really enjoyed getting a full 360 perspective of how a magazine publication operated, sitting in on their editorial meetings was interesting and beneficial in giving me an idea of just how fast paced of a work climate it was. I grew as a writer and as a young professional as I was treated like one by the staff.

Cons

Man, what a depressing work place. While I think it's great that everyone is so focused on their own work, it's not conducive to a collaborative or consequently an easy going vibe throughout the office. I get it, the newsroom doesn't warrant mindless chatter when things are going on all the time and events need to be covered but the cliques were evident, the office politics were perturbing, and the superficiality of the staff was enough to make me lose interest in the company fast. While it may be the right fit for some, I came out of it knowing it wasn't for me.
